This is total win. I think I need to re-read Pride & Prejudice again without having to worry about doing badly on quizzes. Maybe then I'll enjoy it more. (I also want to re-read To The Lighthouse. & Brave New World, which I already re-read once this summer. Why do I have sudden Brit Lit urges? THERE ARE NO URGES!)

We have our Christmas tree up now. ( Read more... )

books, general christmas spirit-ness, lost

Oh man, your story about the artificial tree with the Yankee-candle plug in made me laugh out loud. And I told my parents which made them laugh.

I think it would be fun to re-read Brave New World and possibly Pride and rejudice if I ever had the time, but I would never again look at To the Lighthouse. Worst. Book. Ever.

But I loved To the Lighthouse, although I'm pretty much the only one who does. (It's kind of like how it seems like everyone hates Squall from FFVIII because he's such an emo kid, but I find him strangely endearing.)

OMG, I loooved that book. It was like... a literature acid trip, and so...stream of consciousy.
However, I did not like that book with the Butler in it we all read at the end of the year that I never actually read...it bored me to death.

Hahaha, The Remains of the Day... that was a strange book, what with all its "WHAT IS A TRUE BUTLER?" and all the talk about butler societies.
