LJ interest tag ideas...

Some that occur to me as likely/possible:

progressive rock, acoustic rock, drinking songs, irish rock, celtic rock, ann arbor, ypsilanti, any places that you regularly play: (espresso royale, ann arbor summer festival, top of the park, ann arbor farmer's market), rock bands, musicians ...

and battlestar galactica *evil grin*

These all sound good, and we could definitely add in broader areas, too, like chicago, michigan, southeast michigan, boston, new york city... maybe even Ohio! ;)

Question: is it worth adding the permutations (like "chicago music", "chicago musicians", etc.)? I don't really use my interests list on my own account, so i'm actually sort of new at this...

Basically you can click on an interest of yours and search for it, and find others who share it... so permutations can be good, depending on how much you expect to be found on LJ. "Dr.Who" and "Doctor Who" will both find hits, and maybe not always the same. I ran out of interests at 150 (the limit). You could add 'em as you think of 'em maybe, and then someday if you hit 150, be more selective in your deleting... then OTOH maybe having few interests listed would show them up better, as they are listed alphabetically, so perhaps the most interesting interests could get buried.

I guess it's a balancing act, and one I'm not web designer enough to be talking out any orifice but the anal one on. :)
