Peter tries to remember the address of that ice-cream parlor. Finally he does and opens a PINpoint portal to that street. He steps through it and waits for Petulia. The streets are so busy in New York that nobody notices their entrance.

She follows him out and gazes around in entrancement.

A man in a hurry bumps into Peter, almost knocking him over. He doesn't even look back. "Excuse you." Peter frowns. He takes Petulia by the arm and moves her to a less busy part of the sidewalk.

"Easy to get trampled here."

"I can see." She smiles. "Most cities are the same."

He nods. "Ready for some ice cre.." He's cut off by a screeching of tires and a car careening across two lanes of traffic. It smashes into a fire hydrant and begins to fill with water. There's a look of horror on Peter's face. "Can you excuse me for a minute? Wait here." He starts running toward the alley, opening his shirt as he goes.
