Great set! I have trouble choosing but I think my favorite is Godzilla (I keep on imagining him roaring like he did in the movie).

I agree with your reasons. Big Hero 6 was a surprisingly enjoyable movie (even better than some superhero movies). I didn't expect to like this new Godzilla movie but when I watched it, I found myself rooting for Aaron Taylor-Johnson's character. Ken Watanabe was one of the highlights of that movie (scientist and interested in Godzilla: ✓✓).
Ant-Man was a lot better than AoU because it was funny and hopeful (plus cool fight scene where they fought to the sound of The Cure).
