Still waiting for my awesome Nami and Robin pagespread action, Oda. Deliver that, and we are good.
SIGNED. SIGNED A THOUSAND TIMES. I want to like this battle but the more time Nami and Robin stand around while the others do things, the more grumpy I get. Especially Robin, considering how freaking cool her new ability is.
I do admit that her moment with freeing the slaves was neat, as was her takedown of Hammond... but it wasn't, you know, page-spread material. She can GROW GIGANTIC LEGS. It feels like she should be doing something more impressive than mook-clean up.
There's still Caribou to deal with, after all this. But I've always felt that the girls' lack of solo fights was less about 'lol gurls r weekur' than 'these ladies don't NEED to show off to be awesome.' They're both specialized for espionage, subterfuge, and taking out large groups.
Their non-combat skills and roles are MASSIVELY more important! Nami's boss fight is against the Grand Line, using navigation. Robin's is against the World Government, using history. This gets ignored and overlooked because it's an action manga, but both of these are challenges of such a massive scale that it breaks the damn table!
Mmm, a fair opinion... but I also feel like they haven't had much screen-time at all in this arc: and now that all the other guys are wrapping up their fights in super-awesome fashions and, you know, making na IMPACT that isn't tragically stupid (Oh Sanji, you used to be cool). Minus Robin freeing the slaves, of course.
I think it's mostly just weariness with the arc. It's been awesome to learn all this backstory... but there has just not been enough Strawhat action, you know? So now that we finally get it, having the girls and only the girls be left out kind of sticks out.

But that's just my highly optimistic opinion.
