Office Hours, Thursday

Well, it wasn't technically is office hours but he was there for a student. Deadpool nudged Jude with his toe once to make sure he was breathing and all that.

Hmmm. He may have gone a wee bit overboard with the duct tape.

The door was shut and locked this time around in case any other students needed his help.

Rikku shook her head. "I'm okay, honest. Hermione got me ice cream last night, from the common room. She's my roommate, did I tell you? She rocks. And I gotta go to class anyway." She made a face. "Stupid Ares and stupid religion and all that."

She was silent for a minute as her train of thought made one of its unscheduled derailings. "Do you know ... what happened to the penguins?"

Deadpool tilted his head in confusion. It was a good question. "No. But if you find them, look for one with a small mask and tinfoil sword. That's Wade Jr."

Rikku stared off for a few seconds. "They were here, and then they left. They're not dead, they just don't exist any more. Do they exist somewhere else? Could you bring them here if you tried?"

She wasn't thinking about penguins any more.

"You probably could..." Wade said slowly. "But they might be back home with their penguiny brethren."

Rikku shook off the thought. "I just meant, if it was important ... it doesn't matter. I mean, I don't know how you'd do it anyway, all that stuff's probably in the scary corner of the library."

Deadpool smacked that Nate voice in his head. "I can get you a pass there if you want to look."

"Really?" Her eyes lit up. "You could? I mean, you don't mind?"

It's possible that he can tell by her reaction that there's more going on here than penguins. And for "possible," make that "hello, it's kinda obvious."

Shut up, shut up, shut up! Deadpool nodded. "You'll talk to me about what you find, right?"

It wasn't a question.

Rikku swallowed hard, considering, then nodded. "Yeah, okay."

She wouldn't find anything anyway, she didn't know why she was bothering to look. But she had to try, or she'd never forgive herself.

"Are you, uh ..." It suddenly occurred to her that it was odd that they were standing in the hallway outside of his office. "Are you okay?" She gestured vaguely towards the door. "We could have gone in, I'm sorry."

Deadpool put an arm over her shoulder and steered her down the hall. "It's being painted. And then fumigated. Very upsetting for me because I liked that office."

Rikku made a face. "Whoa, I hope it gets fixed soon. Good thing I found you here, then."

She nodded at the end of the hallway. "Okay, yeah. Class. And I'll call if I need anything, but I think I'm good. Just one of those things, yeah?" It's not a full Rikku grin, but it's a start.

Deadpool nodded. "Good."

He'd kidnap her for some stress relieving shooting things if this didn't clear up soon.
