Dear flist,

What's a reasonable price for a pressure canner? The ones I've seen online seem to hover between $300-$400, which seems like an awful lot of money. Is this what they usually cost?

It looks like I may be able to run L4D on my Mac after all. That being said, I have no idea how to make this work. Maybe one of my local computer-savvy friends could help me with this one day? *bats eyelashes* I will cook for you and give you booze if you do!

Why on earth are bicycle trailers so expensive? Also, they all appear to be made for transporting children and not groceries. I found one at Wicycle.com, but it's still more than I would ideally like to pay for a trailer.

*sigh*

Any thoughts one where I could find one at a reasonable price? In Montreal?

After reading a few of you wistfully talk about steampunk, I realized that I am not all that familiar with the genre. Do you have any recommendations? I'd prefer books, but movies and whatnot are fine too. :)

I was just thinking the other day that most of my friends (the ones who've read and enjoyed Harry Potter, that is) identify strongly with either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw.
