Friday Night Excitement!

My exciting Friday night plans involve going to bed soon.

I had a long but really productive day at work. I didn't get two of the things on my to-do list done, but given that I had over 20 items on it AND I got a bunch of things added to it over the course of the day (as you do), I am not too disappointed.

I'll keep my fingers crossed on the new position creation. Does the DG have to approve you moving to the Sergeant position?

Officially, our Assistant Commissioner has to approve all staffing actions, but if the DG recommends it that usually means it will get approved.

Creating the position won't happen for at least two years (because we move at the speed of government), but there's a non-zero chance of my getting approved to be put as acting in the Sergeant position in the interim.

Two years... oof, but yea, I get the speed of government. I hope the approval for acting Sergeant happens much much quicker... or at least before July 20th.
