The problem with purring cats...

Sep 10, 2009 10:41

...is that they make one veeeeery reluctant to get anything done. Really, I could sit here all day with Smudge in my lap, purring, and do nothing else at all.

Also, reading Naomi Novik's novels in quick succession results in very vivid dreams about dragons.

Okay. Gotta go set up beds.

dragons, naomi novik, cats, guests, domestic stuff, dreams

Smudge actually came out for pats last wednesday. J and I were pleasantly surprised!

He came out for my mother, too! I swear, the Pod Cats have come and replaced him!

Seriously, though, I'm so glad that he's finally getting used to being around people and getting more sure of himself.

I'd tend to agree, except that our one cat, Aiken (aka The Squink) also drools while purring. Oh, and he vibrates intensely. Our other cat, Jaheira, purrs like a chainsaw, but fortunately does not drool. Her purring is less obtrusive now that she's older and, honestly, chubbier. When she was a kitten with a tiny pipe-cleaner tail you could hear her purring two rooms away. It was something.

I do this all the time (although these cats don't actually sit in my lap.) The worst for me is when I wake up and George comes and lays down beside me to get pets. I don't want to move and ruin it.

Lola, on the other hand, just tries to tear my hair out of my head.
