Oh, that's such sad news about Terry Pratchett. I've been meaning to read more of his stuff, I've only read "Good Omens" (co-written, don't ya know) and I've now read enough of Gaiman's stuff to suspect that much of what I liked in "Omens" is actually Pratchett's stuff. (Not that I don't like Gaiman, it's just...different....)

Anyway, that's bad news. And to add to your selfishness, I'll say that one of my big fears in life is to discover that I'm losing my faculties before I've even managed to finish writing a novel.

Haha, I had the exact same-but-opposite reaction to "Good Omens" -- as a Gaiman fan already, I assumed the stuff I liked was his. Then I picked up a Pratchett book on a whim and spent an entire flight from Portland to San Diego laughing like a moron, and was hooked on Pratchett for life.

And I have that fear, too -- how awful would that be? At least Pratchett has 50+ books under his belt...
