Rob and I became friends through A.A. We would meet up at meetings and/or email each and share our experience strength and hope. I got the privilege of being apart of Rob's recovery and for that I am grateful. Rob's ability to be honest and open was amazing, I loved to read his recovery posts (as well as his posts on the various adventures he was experiencing as a result of being sober). I will miss his hugs and big wide open smile. I am grateful to have known Rob and will never forget him.
Love & Light,
Lisa Gentry

Wow, this is a shock. I saw something on hawaiianrose's LJ just now, and came here to see... Rob and I were LJ friends a year or two ago, and had some falling out, and I can't even remember the reason why now, but I do remember him being supportive, always. I was a stranger to him, and likewise, but we found common ground here on the Internet, and became friends. Whatever tore that apart is best not explored, but what is remembered is that he was a very kind and intelligent, and even funny man, and I am so sorry to hear that he is gone. So very sorry.

How sad; I met him via livejournal & thought of him as a very smart, witty & funny person with a cute baby, and a love for playing the drums. He certainly changed the world for the better during his time here.

To me, Rob was an eternally boyish character, a friend generous with praise and affection, a man in whose presence I always felt a bit more liberated and honest, and less judged, than most anywhere else ( ... )

Rob was a special man, a clever and intelligent human being and someone who I enjoyed talking to about anything and everything under the sun. Yes, we had our 'debates' but they were always interesting and stimulated thought and discussion between us. And if it hadn't been for Rob, Scott and I would never have met. I was so glad of his support and encouragement of us in our relationship, especially because I knew just how important he was to Scott and to you as well Molly.

My heart goes out to you both and all his other friends, as well as his family, right now. You know where I am if you need anything- or even just an ear for listening.

I will miss him.

For Rob: 'Second star to the right and straight on ’til morning...'
