while researching sheep diseases for yet another of my lighthearted short stories, i came across this fun fact:

I am now going to run for office on a platform solely devoted to ending poor shepherding. It's the most serious threat facing our society since porch collapse.

given that humans genetically a wild animal for placidity that kind of makes sense.

"genetic will to die", though, that calls to mind shiny patent leather boots and bad German accents, jah?

oh, that doesn't mean I disagree. I see it all the time.

in the worst of circumstances I have often felt the will to live most strongly, though, or more precisely I have felt the urge to live and the urge to die at war.
