Quirks

I do a couple of quirky things. One thing I do is that sometimes I like to write the date when I open something to see how long it lasts. I have a box of 750 Q-tips in my bathroom that was opened on 11/26/2009. I think I'm down to my last couple of weeks' worth. Is that strange? I've done it for bottles of vitamins and such as well

My grandma used to do that, and I always thought it was a good idea, but for one reason or another I never did it too. When we moved in, we found all kinds of crap with random dates written on, some dating back to the 70s.

I do sometimes write things I buy in my LJ (in private entries) so I can go back later and say, "Oh! That's when I bought that!"

My grandparents did that on all their canned goods.
Thank goodness.
I really appreciate knowing that this can of peaches was new in 1972 so I can THROW IT AWAY WITH HASTE.

I think people who have serious pantries necessarily gravitate towards this.

I try and date my nail polish.

I date all the food in my freezer. One of my other quirks is that I am the only person in my house that can fold towels and sheets. No one else folds like I do and I hate having to refold.

That is a GREAT habit to have! I think I'm going to try and cultivate that one.
