Full Spectrum Warrior is the mostest awesomest piece of military propaghanda for a home console ever. If I could fight wars from a Laz-E-Boy, with dual analog control, a rumble stick feature and Dolby Surround Sound, my ass would be successfully drafted. There's an episode of Star Trek where this one planet had been engaged in war for so long, ( Read more... )

Ender...Ender's Game...Orson Scott Card...the kid who unknowingly fights a giant galactic war by controlling ships through a videogame interface at the request of the global government.

For a guy that will just sit down one day and tear through a book for the fuck of it, with no previous interest whatsoever, you are painfully under-read, sir. Painfully!

Kevin has a copy, somewhere. I know becasue I bought it for him. Maybe he can lend it to you.

Yeah, earlier this evening I was thinking "I wonder if that's a reference to a book called 'Enders Game' that people had told me to read in the past?" I looked it up, and lo and behold, it's exactly what you said. Perhaps I'll read it afterall...

Oh god, at the risk of completely embarassing myself...

She's from a british pop group called S Club 7 that's a guilty pleasure of mine. I work late hours, 5:30pm-2am. That being the case, I watch a lot of daytime television. S Club had a TV show in the afternoon that was sort of like The Monkees; meaning they traveled around as a band, having kooky adventures and performing at the end of every episode. I got completely addicted to this shit. The girls in the band are pretty fucking hot though, so I don't feel TOO guilty.....

Hey my friend is having a contest and is giving away copies of his newest cd. maybe you or some of your friends could put together some artwork and win yourselves a new CD. its not neccessarily your type of music, but its a pretty solid CD. i'll be putting up more info on my site in the next couple of days, but he wants artwork geared towards himself or his cd, here's some stuff to maybe give you an idea: http://www.jixer.org/JiXeR/jester.jpg

I'd be completely willing to do something for this, as long as it's understood that the stuff I draw is more cartoon/comic oriented and not really "fine art" per se. I quickly browsed the site, I'll give it a more in depth examination tomorrow. To help me out a little though, what kind of music are we talking about here?

Its a disco-pop-bluegrass-porno-muzak amalgam band, with Jazz fusion elements and hiphop lyrical flow. They claim equal influence from Blues and Country Western, though if you ask me, the compositions bear more resemblance to early Blind Guardian or late Miles Davis than either Mississippi Delta blues history or the works of, say, Hank Williams.

that is to say:

No ska/punk whatsoever.

i would say kind of electronic music, he makes all his own beats or whatever, however there are a few "hip hop" type tracks on there as well.
