So, I decided not to write a new variation this week. I decided instead to try to construct a "classic" style. Coming off my recent Nurikabe contest puzzle t-shirt win, I've gotten into some discussions with people about how I tend to prefer the much larger ones because they allow themes that require "global" thinking in parts instead of just localized island and sea grabbing. Here, in my first stand-alone Nurikabe, I tried to create a themed design that needs deductions you tend not to encounter in such small puzzles. I think it was a success, but I'll let you judge for yourself.
