Friday Puzzle #41 - 2010 Hashiwokakero (Bridges)

Last week I tackled kakuro, which I argued rarely have memorable themes or interesting solves to me. I still enjoy the type, but as a mental exercise to beat the clock more than anything else. Thinking I'd possibly been unfairly negative to the type, it turned out that the comments were more negative towards kakuro than even my pointed post

I guess I have a much different taste for such puzzles.

IMHO the most interesting hashi/slitherlinks are actually those computer-generated (from conceptis). I never really enjoyed nikoli-style puzzles (huge, easy and tedious), and I always wondered why anyone would like them - they're only good for measuring speed of applying very simple patterns.

Nice artistic touch. Only one stop and consider moment though, and then it ran right through.

I don't want to be the grumbler (especially because the puzzles have been good), but, I am officially getting tired of the 2010 theme. When were you planning on moving on?

(Also, I'm at the point I can review Mutant Sudoku within a week or so.)
