As the seconds wound down on Florida's unimpressive win over an even more unimpressive ou team, the text messages started to fly.  They basically boiled down to this:

'45-35'

And the one thing that I truly felt is this: Texas would have played with more heart than either team.

They would have won, yo.

I wore my Longhorns pullover and championship hat as a not-subtle reminder of everything you've written about here. And WTF, fourth? Fourth??

Fucking USC, man. That hurts. I know it's been two years and all, but I feel like that win should carry over for at least five seasons.

we had this same conversation. we would've been beat by florida, but florida/ou was boring as hell. i actually fell asleep for part of it. and wtf utah!

it was a great season. fantastico. i think we were a highly underrated team all season and they played their asses off and got kinda screwed but it made for some great football.

OSU played way better than anyone would have thought, to be sure. But I don't think OSU shut down Colt running as much as UT just didn't do it. In fact, I think the entire UT offensive gameplan was reflective of the fear Texas had of the OSU linebackers.

But, when Texas did have Colt run, you had two impressive TD drives in a row, including a 20 yard TD run which displayed his athleticism.

And yes, if Florida played their best, they would beat Texas, most likely. But they looked so lackluster in that BCS game, I was not impressed. But yes, hopefully we will find out next year...
