Might be an idea to install such an app and have a practice, should you need to use it.

That is an interesting idea! I was thinking about freshening up my sign language skills, which are rather languishing since it might be 20 years since I last practiced what I learned from a Deaf roommate in the 80ies.

Being able to sign would be very cool indeed!

Alas, there have been people whining in the UK about wearing masks and using "but deaf people are discriminated" as an excuse. Which, I'd have more sympathy for if such people actually gave a shit about people with disabilities being discriminated against at any other time, and where not just using this as a get out of jail free card. I can bet they wont be downloading any speech to text apps.

And disabled people are annoyed because they've been saying that for ages and ignored, but the minute an abled comes up with it he's hailed as a hero 😆
