Just got a phonecall from American Airlines.

They've also damaged my bag beyond use. Go AA!

I've never had a damaged bag yet, but I did recently see someone's luggage thrown on the conveyer/collection thing wide open with their pants on display to the world. Poor sod wasn't amused, as I imagine you aren't now :(

Fortunately it was all external damage, but it does look like they've chucked it, picked it up again and hurled it once more for good measure XD

New bag is bigger and shinier so I've no complaints there, since they replaced it without me even having to ask them to. They sent it along with my poor bag.

"Frankly these bags aren't meant for flying. Too delicate."

Uh huh, and it's survived 12 flights with minor scratches. But it's too delicate(!)

Speaking for the AA side... Those guys handle an average of 200 bags per load/unload of a flight, and 1.25 flights an hour for 8+ hours a day. They have management stepping on their necks, and frankly the only thing AA cares about is getting the flights out ontime. Not your bags, not your satisfaction, nothing but making those guys turn a plane in and out in 30 minutes to get another one right after it constantly for 8 or more hours a day straight.

That being said. AA sucks balls, next time fly Continental, United, Delta, or Northwest Airlines.

I've flown on both. V. nice from what I remember. And ATA.

Flew Continental from San Antonio to LA and they were pretty good actually. :)
