"Ah, goddammit!" Scott says suddenly, stepping back from the table. He counts on his fingers, mouthing names. "You-me-Glen-Lloyd-the boys... yep. We're a chair short, babyluv," he calls into the next room. "I mean, it's not a big deal, I guess. Glen knocked preemptively and let himself in, ushering in Kojak before shutting the door behind him. It seemed strange to him having thanksgiving in the kind of heat that was outside, all associations with over the river and through the woods were somewhat dashed by the island anyway, so Glen figured it was out with the old and in with the new.

"Lisey! If you hadn't already invited me, I have to tell you that I would have been knocking down your door in any case. Everything smells delicious. Scott," Glen turned and grinned, "You be sure to tell me what you cooked so I can avoid it."

Alain and Cuthbert came up the path, each carrying a skin of something extra to celebrate the holiday that while quite foreign to them, seemed like a tradition they could grow to like. They'd both spent one Thanksgiving on the island already, so they knew the idea behind it and when she'd approached him, Cuthbert had accepted Lisey's offer immediately. For his part, it would have been quite out of character for Alain to turn down a good meal, so they went, came inside, made their manners and presented Lisey with their gift for the occasion.

"Thankiee sai, for the invitation," Alain said, looking back and forth between Lisey and Scott. "It smells delicious," he added.

When they sat down to eat, Alain set to it with a will, doling out compliments on each dish, relaxed, and enjoying himself in the small company.
