First thing anyone should know about Amaterasu is that she's easily offended, as seen when Mr. Orange comments on how she doesn't look too intelligent, but she'll be gracious enough to growl at you as a warning. That said, she won't attack anyone for no reason. She's much more intelligent than your average wolf, but that's because she's a sun goddess in a wolf's body. She faces danger with a brave, determined face and doesn't seem to fear anything, save for the thought of losing someone important to her... or baths. It's not that she's afraid of water, she just doesn't like to take baths so good luck trying to get her into a tub. Another thing about her battling skills is that she's not afraid to get down and dirty. She'll snarl, bite, scratch, slash, burn, freeze, blow away, electrocute, or even urinate on her enemies. The fact that she can wield three types of Divine Instruments with great skill only makes her an even fiercer fighter. She's a quick learner and good at adapting to different situations. She has to be if she's traveling all over Nippon and dealing with different climates, surroundings, people, and last but not least, monsters.
Outside of battle, she is a benevolent goddess who is loyal to her friends and always willing to help people with their problems. Being the goddess of all of Nippon, she can't help but show a motherly sort of attitude towards most people, or animals; it's part of her nature. She only wants to see her people thriving and living without fear of demons coming for them, to live under a strong sun. Though her role is a heavy burden on her shoulders, she bears it with courage and pride. She's also not afraid to show her opinion, which can be both a good and a bad thing. If she thinks of you as a good person, then she'll show it by wagging her tail or licking you all over your face. However, if she thinks the opposite, chances are high that you'll be offended by her actions, or her expressions. For example, if you have bad breath, she'll turn her head away and gag.
Some negative aspects about Ammy that need to be pointed out are 1) She has a low attention span. If someone is taking too long to explain something, or keeps repeating what they said throughout their monologue, she'll fall asleep and may end up missing a few important details. Plus it doesn't make a good impression on people. 2) She's too trusting. Though it's good that she's open to listening and helping anyone, she could end up assisting the wrong person. This is best seen with Ninetails, who disguised herself as the priestess Rao. Amaterasu handed over the Fox Rods without giving any thought as to what the rods really were, what they could do, let alone the fact that Rao had abandoned her and Issun when the Water Dragon attacked them near the sunken ship. She never suspected Rao of being a villain until it was too late (when Queen Himiko was killed). 3) She cannot be at her full strength unless there are many people who believe in the gods. She may have all her Celestial Brush Techniques back by now, but she can't bring out their true power without people's faith. 4) She may not think about making a decision thanks to Issun's "leap before you think" motto. BUT... if she gets into trouble, then she'll make sure she gets out of that trouble one way or another.
One last thing, canonly, she does not speak human speech. There's a reason it is not grouped with the negative aspects, though. It doesn't really hold her back. She can express herself just fine with her facial expressions, or her actions, or the animal sounds she makes. Besides that, her silence adds to the mystery and majesty that surrounds her. So even if people don't believe in the gods, they can get a feel that she is not just some random white wolf by the aura she emits.

She was told to rescue Kamiki Village and defeat Orochi, but that wasn't the end of her mission. She soon found herself traveling all over Nippon and with her travels, bit by bit she pieced together her memories from long ago. As she regained her memories, she realized her true mission, which was to purge Nippon of all evil and darkness. Before, she had a relatively happy-go lucky attitude, but as time went by she saw how far the extent of her people's went. Though Ammy retains her carefree and kind nature, she knows when she has to put all joking aside. Unfortunately, at the point in time where she's being taken from, she's suffered a blow to her self-confidence. Reason being that she was separated from Issun, for he couldn't follow her onto the Ark of Yamato even though he's been with her since she was awakened. She just feels so incomplete without him. She will overlook this discomfort and carry on, but he'll always be on her thoughts and she'll never be able to get completely over it.
Powers & Abilities: Amaterasu has her own Celestial Brush Technique known as Sunrise, which brings out the sun and can change night into day. However, because her powers will be lessened on Fortuna, she won't be able to change night into day, but maybe (with permission from the mods) she can make the sky brighter (?) or something like that?
By this time, she has all her Celestial Brush Techniques, which are Rejuvenation, Power Slash, Bloom, Water Lily, Vine, Cherry Bomb, Waterspout, Deluge, Fountain, Crescent, Galestorm, Whirlwind, Inferno, Fireburst, Veil of Mist, Mist Warp, Catwalk, Thunderstorm, Thunderbolt, Blizzard, and Ice Storm.
Rejuvenation - Fixes broken items and can replace missing ones.
Power Slash - can be used to slash through rock, iron, and diamond; can also be used on an enemy.
Bloom - makes flowers, or buds, bloom. When used on people, it makes them want to pet Ammy's fur, or it can also increase their energy (as seen in the digging minigames). Bloom also allows Ammy to make trees randomly sprout from the ground, but it won't work if she's on sand, bare stone, or ice.
Water Lily - creates a lily pad on the water that Ammy can stand on.
Vine - If the vine is drawn to a large blossom, it takes hold of Ammy and pulls her toward the blossom.
Cherry Bomb - creates a bomb that can explode solid objects, or damage enemies. At this point in the game, Ammy would have the power to create three bombs at the same time.
Waterspout - If there's a body of water nearby, or a source, Ammy can control it to put out a fire or drench an enemy. It can also make a geyser, which she can use as an elevator to get to high places.
Deluge - creates rain.
Fountain - in the game, this allows her to travel between Mermaid Springs for free. (I don't know how she can use this technique on Fortuna, though.)
Crescent - makes the moon appear.
Galestorm - creates a gust of wind.
Whirlwind - creates a hurricane-like wind.
Inferno - if there's a source of fire in the area, Ammy can manipulate it to go in certain paths.
Fireburst - can create fire if Ammy draws an infinity symbol; does not need an actual source of fire.
Veil of Mist - slows down time for a a few seconds
Mist Warp - Allows Ammy to teleport bewteen any two Ultimate Origin Mirrors she's already come across.
Catwalk - if there's a cat statue in the area, Ammy can draw a line from it to create glowing cat paw prints along the wall, allowing her to climb along that surface.
Thunderstorm - Electrocutes an enemy, or provides electricity. Can only be used if there's a source nearby, or if Ammy has her Thunder Edge Glaive equipped.
Thunderbolt - can do all the things that Thunderstorm can, except with Thunderbolt no source is needed to perform it.
Blizzard - can freeze an enemy by using a nearby source of ice, or if Ammy has her Tundra Beads equipped.
Ice Storm - a powerful blizzard that doesn't need a source. To use it, Ammy just needs to draw a six-armed asterisk.
Also, Amaterasu can use a wide variety of weapons known as Divine Instruments. These include rosaries, reflectors, and glaives. The rosaries are used like whips and are the fastest and longest weapons that Ammy possesses. She can use up to 8-swing combos. When equipped as a sub weapon, the beads of the rosary can be used as long-range projectiles. The glaives resemble broadswords and are used as such. They're slow, but powerful and when equipped as sub weapons they become long-range (though they also lose their power). Finally, the Reflectors are the best all-around weapons that Ammy has. They can be used to strike or to shield Ammy from projectiles and direct attacks.
What items will they be bringing with them to Discedo? Her reflector, Divine Retribution. A rosary, Resurrection Beads. Her glaive, Thunder Edge, which is imbued with the power of lightning.

This place, Amaterasu thought, was clinging to whatever life it still had. She looked at the crumbling buildings and empty streets as she searched her new surroundings. Though she knew not where this was, she knew for certain that this couldn’t be the inside of the Ark of Yamato, for she felt nothing familiar about this city. The writing was strange too.
She really wished that Issun was with her right now, that way she wouldn’t be alone. Issun… she paused in her walking for a moment before letting out a whimper and lowering her head. She never thought that she’d miss his wise cracks. She lifted her head and resumed her stroll. But maybe he was here as well? She couldn’t have been the only one brought to this strange place, right? The thought slightly brought her mood up and she picked up her pace.
She wondered if there were any people left in this city. It was true that she could barely feel any life here, but that was better than nothing. Maybe this was another cursed zone and that was why her Sunrise didn’t work. If that was so, all she had to do was fight the demons responsible! Or find a Guardian Sapling! That way the city would be restored to its former beauty and the people would change back to normal. However, she was nervous that she hadn’t seen any stone figures around so far. At least those meant there were people living within the vicinity.
Her ears perked up when she heard a sound, which sounded like someone crying. It sounded so sad. She followed her ears toward a streetlight and found a woman dressed in rags, just weeping there. She felt sorry for the woman and began to make her way towards her, but as she did, she suddenly sensed a dark aura about this person. Amaterasu stopped in her tracks and took a closer look. The Witch noticed her as well and began growling at her, baring her bloody teeth. Ammy growled in return, getting into her stance. This demon looked nothing like the ones she had faced in the past, but that didn’t really matter to her. She just knew that this fiend had to go. The Witch rose to her feet slowly before making a start towards Amaterasu. Without a second thought, Ammy swung her glaive at the Witch.

What other things could this piece of metal do? Soon, however, another thing catches her attention. The sky, which was dark and cloudy. Perhaps if she brought out the sun, it would restore the surroundings to their natural beauty.]
[Ammy stood nice and tall on her four legs before letting out a howl. Nothing changed, though, the sky remained the way it was. She made a noise to express her bafflement.]
