Psalm 18

Jul 24, 2010 04:32

(From the New Revised Standard Version.)

Psalm 18, verses 4-19, with minor adjustments.
Castiel pulls Dean out of Hell.

The cords of death encompassed me;
the torrents of perdition assailed me;
the cords of Hell entangled me;
the snares of Death confronted me.
In my distress I called upon the Lord;
to my God I cried for help.

Then the earth reeled and rocked;
the foundations of the mountains quaked and trembled.
The heavens bowed and he came down;
thick darkness was under his feet.
He rode on a cherub, and flew;
he came swiftly on the wings of the wind.
He made darkness his covering around him,
his canopy thick clouds dark with water.
Out of the brightness before him
there broke through his clouds
hailstones and coals of fire.

He reached down from on high, he took me;
he drew me out of mighty waters.
He delivered me from my strong enemy,
from those who hated me and cut me,
for they were mightier than I.

He delivered me, because I am his.
