Plotting Post: Harpies, Ligers, and Refugee Harassment oh my
Hello folks, you may notice some missions this month that will shape a little plot. Here we go!
Thor For Thorians Society
Refugees have been noticing discrimination for many months now, but it's becoming more organized. A group of Thor citizens calling themselves the "Thor For Thorians" society has been putting pressure on law enforcement and forming vigilante groups, with the intent of making life rough for refugees and to hopefully drive them out. These citizens' families have been on the Thor for many generations, and their arrival was not linked to world destruction. Rumor has it that they may be secretly affiliated with or perhaps influenced by The Purists. Other rumors claim that religious institutions or even organized crime have a hand in this movement.
The TFT is putting out public service announcement ads about the threats and dangers refugees pose to life on the Thor. Protest groups called "Residents Against Refugees" may be seen with signs and chants at the arrivals area, letting newcomers know that they are not welcome. Vigilantes may ask refugees for identification cards or papers, or demand to check a refugee's Guide for evidence of indecent, subversive, or terrorist activity. They may block refugees from entering certain places of business or facilities. You are welcome to post about or write your character encountering and reacting to this in any way they choose. Will you sell out your fellow refugees to make a buck?
Harpies are a nasty, germy, smelly, dangerous, very scary looking mythical bird that poops a great deal. Some consider them "a seagull with magic and deadly talons" to be exterminated, some prize them for their delicious, sweet, and low in fat, high in Omega-3 fatty acids flesh.
A large flock of harpies has made its way onto the SS Thor from the Sigrun, causing various organizations to find their own ways of dealing with the influx (infestation?), as you will see in the missions. Please feel free to have all of these people fight it out or try to subvert each other in various ways:
Thanks to the reality TV show Real Cabin Boys of the SS Thor, people are clamoring to own their very own liger. Antonio's Liger Farm is making a killing on their liger breeding and sales operation. Rumor has it that their methods of breeding and keeping these animals may less than kosher, and PETA is high-handedly furious! Are you going to uncover their seedy operations? Those of you who signed up for news or gossip type missions, feel free to investigate.
