The things that are going to kill me are cheeses and baked good. Cheese is clearly out, but you can find dairy-free breads. Yet so far, the ones I've tried have been very dry. Alas. Trial and error, I guess!

But speaking of Forbidden Foods...here is what I can tell you about the Dairy-free Life so far.
1. I don't think you'll see any dramatic results after dropping dairy for only a week. Our pediatrician said it takes at least two weeks for dairy to work itself out of your system - more for some people. My friend bostonerin's baby was lactose intolerant, and she said that it took 27 days too see the difference going dairy-free had made. But she also said her daughter was a "new baby."
