Last Sunday I moved to India. I recently graduated from college this past semester, so India was a good place for jobs. There are many here. India is in Asia proper, so no cheating this time and pretending that islands in the far east count for continents. Here is what you want. It is a ( livejournal cut! )

omg india rox. i don't agree with emily- i like the black and white and red picture. i bet scott appreciates you touching up his face.

Much of our over-tipping was attributed to our currency denominations. The smallest bills we had were $10 and Rs.500. Of course, nobody wants to make change when you are tipping them.

I have since made up for our over-tipping by haggling with every auto rickshaw driver we use. Chris pointed out to me how much of a Jew I was being when I argued for 5 minutes with a driver over an arbitrary Rs. ($0.10) fee for carrying a box (containing my non-functional computer) onto his auto rickshaw. Fortunately, I was able to get the ride for 1/2 of the price he originally quoted us!
