eclecticmuses :: HalloweenIt’s the first Halloween since the end of Voldemort. It’s the first real holiday, actually. It’s moments such as these that still feel funny - it’s as if the memories have rough edges, and she’s afraid to touch them. She’s trying though, really trying, to be cheerful and to avoid the gloomy disposition that sometimes sweeps over her

He always felt compelled to bring something to parties, and he certainly couldn't come empty handed if this was a flatwarming party. He hoped she liked the gift. After all, when one was living in illegal government housing because you're too broke to afford actual rent, choices are kind of limited.
Untucking the book from under his arm, Murph presented to her 101 Ways to Throw a Halloween Party You'll Never Forget! He had gotten it at the same thrift store where he found the trousers and immediately thought of Hermione upon seeing it. He hoped she didn't mind the dog eared pages of a used book. "Looks like ye won't need this though," he said with a smile. "Yer doin' fine fer yerself already."

Of course being a shaman it could be said that he was sort of wearing a costume anyway, not many people wore ceremonial robes and a turban after all.
Anyway the point was there was a short shaman standing on Hermione's doorstep, looking behind him every so often for Vince and/or Howard, he'd mentioned it but they were never exactly commital about these things.

"Hello!" she said cheerfully.

"Alright?" he replied happily offering his hand. "I'm Naboo, this your party is it?"

With the toe of one of his fabulously piratical boots, Loki knocks on Hermione's door. Since his hands are full and all.

"Loki!" she grinned once she opened the door, "You're a pirate! That's fantastic!"
She moved as if to hug him, but then noticed there just so happened to be a gift. "Oh! A present?"

Because giving her the keys to one of his houses didn't actually help to to anything warming to this house.

She glanced down at her outfit of blue, purple and gold as she apparated just outside Hermione's door. Ginny had thought it funny to come dressed as Queen Maeve. The blanket that she'd knitted for her friend, well that the magical needles had knitted, was carefully folded into a pretty wrapped box. Ginny raised her hand to knock on the door.

That had been more than a little strange. She probably would've screamed had it not taken her an entire five seconds to realize what had happened. By the time she and everyone else in the room had turned their heads toward the winged messenger flying down the hallway, it was a little too late to react.
But when Corky opened the letter, it turned out to be an invitation to a Halloween party, and it sounded so positively charming that she found it impossible to say no.
So here she was, dressed as Little Bo Peep at the door of a girl named "her-mee-own", carrying a pink bag filled to the brim with everything from Hershey Kisses to Tootsie Rolls. It was a Halloween party, after all, and what better way to celebrate than by sharing candy with a bunch of strangers?

"Oh! Little Bo Peep!" she smiled, since she was all dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood. She didn't really have a clue who this person was, but her costume was adorable! Besides, it could easily be Tonks or someone with quite a bit of transfiguration ability?

"LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD!" she yelled, the big yellow curls on her Bo Peep wig bouncing with her excitement. "Don't you look adorable! You must be Hermeeown." She grinned and held up her bag of candy. "I brought a few treats for everybody; I hope that's okay. Oh! And how could I forget to introduce myself!?" Extending a hand, she said, "I'm Corky! Thank you so much for inviting me to your party!"
She paused and cringed for a split-second. "Although the way the invitation was delivered was... well, it was unique."

Corky? Okay, so maybe there were more interesting names than Hermione after-all. Oh, and she certainly didn't sound like she was from England or, well, anywhere in Europe at least. Seriously, where did those owls fly? She did send one to Boston. Hmm. She'd really have to look into that.
"Oh, well," and she was a muggle. Huh. She'd certainly have to check about that. There was this lovely mass-mail system set up at the office, but clearly there were some kinks in the system. "my boss is rather eccentric. He sent out the invitations for me as a house-warming gift. Quirky, no?"
[Eeeee! Corky! I loved that show SO MUCH. Poor Hermione has no clue, but I'm so insanely happy!]
