[Warden Filter Minus Howie | Audio]Due to recent developments and discussions, and the need for Cooper to act independently under the assurance he would no longer take the Barge hostage, I had very recently returned his gun as you would return someone's powers. He's a CIA agent. It's part of his job and the job he'll returning to when he leaves ( Read more... )

Cooper is pissed and angry and walking on a foot that he shouldn't be standing on yet.

He'll be alright.

He shot himself in it. Both literally and figuratively.

[He does love Cooper. He really does. Don't get him wrong...]

Is he being punished?

For now he's had his gun taken away.

Contrary to what they were saying... what he did wasn't necessary. I think people kept hearing, "Someone died," and not "Someone slipped on the stairs and they don't want Sveta dead." It became some fucked up game of capture-the-flag.

In the long run it was a bad call. Unlike with his targets in the CIA, he hast to be trapped on the same ship with his victim and all of his victims loved ones. He is going to unleash a whole pile of circumstances on a lot of heads.

Sveta was going to kill all of us. My only question is why someone didn't do it earlier.

She was basing her experience off one time. The truth is, no one looked into the alternatives. There were several magic users on the Barge that should have invested in a combined effort to stop her. There were several psychics that should have shut her down. I have a gun with specialized ammunition that might have been able to stop her without killing her. One that several people knew about.

No, she made herself out to be a bigger threat than she was because she wanted someone to be her executioner. She hated herself for it, and she wanted to die.

Then why didn't you do it? Why didn't someone else try it? The curse went into affect hours before anyone tried anything. [He's not angry so much as trying really hard to understand why he wasn't able to kill a certain someone when he had the chance.]

Because I have a very dangerous job, and as a part of this very dangerous job I was run through once or twice. A couple of my organs are facsimiles that usually work as well as the real thing and look like it, too. Narvin had a bad version of that curse and whenever he came near me, my liver gave out.

So I spent the whole time high as a goddamn kite on painkillers or unconscious. Or believe me, I would have.

I can't speak for anyone else. Anger and blind idealism makes you single-minded and stupid.

Isn't it easier to just eliminate a threat instead of hoping it won't cause your any harm?

You can eliminate a threat without killing it. Killing it shouldn't be a default.

How are you defining a threat?

... Something that threatens your ability to complete your mission.

How can you eliminate it without killing it?

I've completed every mission I've been assigned in fifty years successfully, and neutralized, eliminated, or contained all threats to the planet Earth as they've presented themselves. I must be doing something right.

It depends on the threat. Not every threat is the same.

[There's a relatively long pause between Kay's reply and Heero's.]

There's a girl who knows too much information about my mission. She keeps getting in the way and following me, and I can't trust her not to talk about what she knows.

[SERIOUS HESITATION HERE.] I thought I'd be better off if she was dead. Letting her live could compromise my mission.

[Oh Jesus Frank Anderson there's a girl involved. This is going to be weird.

Damn. He was a teenager once. And in love while a teenager.

Gah! Okay, practicality.] Have you investigated her history and any potential political involvements, or do you know of any affiliations she might have?

[Shit, Kay, you ask awesome questions about teenage girls to teenage boys.]
