If that's what I think it is, I guess someone figured that if "one person, one vote" is a good idea, "one person, 20 votes" is an even better one...?

You're not wrong, alas. The scale of falsifications is staggering. They organized "additional lists" that allowed unidentified people to vote without absentee passes, and they were carrying these people in buses from one polling station to another.

I'm following the results by coordination center of independent watchers and the results differ about 13-14%.

My son works as a volunteer watcher at one of the polling stations. Right now their web-cameras are switched off, and I'm scared for him. Moscow is flooded with troops and people from pro-Kremlin youth movement "Nashi".

I'll go to the protest meeting tomorrow. I don't know if anything could be done in this situation, but it's so humiliating to look at this political circus.

Best of luck to all of you. It's amazing, the amount of shit politicians can get away with simply by... well, deciding to get away with them.

I'd like to post the youtube vid on my facebook but thought I should ask first. The treatment of the election in the media here is "there are CLAIMS of widespread fraud, but..."

Would it be ok if I posted it? I know it's not much, but if everyone keeps shouting about it, people will pay attention I hope.

Of course, you may post it! You can also post how the streets of Moscow look today.

These thieves who rigged the elections - they're afraid of the people. They say on TV that these were the most honest elections in Russia. I have no words...

The corruption is staggering. How could anyone claim these elections aren't rigged?

All my friends from my generation are pessimistic and depressed. The young ones are ready to fight for official admission of real results. My son was a watcher at an electoral poll. He just came come. They spent allday and night there, about 24 hours. He said according to their results Putin got 41,9%. He is still on the first place, but this numbers indicate that Putin stole 10-15% of votes. There will be a meeting today evening - I hope people will be demanding to make public all the official records from the election polling stations. Looks like a lion's share of falsifications happens in the central electoral committee run by Putin's close friend, Churov. That's besides electoral rolls, "additional lists" and shameless pro-Putin propaganda at all TV channels.

I don't know if we could change anything by protesting - but I repeat Angel's words "If nothing we do matters then the only thing that matters is what we do".

I'm glad your son's ok. What he's doing is so dangerous but so necessary. You should be proud.

Oh, I am. Very proud and very scared. Looks like right now Russia is in a no-win situation. There will be either big political disturbances, up to a revolt, or a reinforcement of authoritatian regime, elimination of the remains of democracy. The second option is more probable.

Looks to me like somebody has hired some Chicago Elections Professionals. After all, there (and across the country) the dead, Mickey Mouse and illegals can vote since you don't need ID, nor are the electoral rolls vetted and cleaned up. I wish you luck.

Thanks! We need a lot of luck today. There will be a manifestation of protest at the center of Noscow and there could be provocations. Hopefully the authorities won't spill blood.
