1. Enough people are doing this that I don't feel like a jerk for following suit. If you want to write me a Yuletide treat, my letter is here. Not to be all grabby hands or more-Yuletide-than-thou or anything, but I did write two pinch hits this year.

2. Japan is having its Nationals this weekend, and the men's SP was less of a foregone conclusion

Wish they'd been able to upload Machida and Murakami, but you can't have everything.

Fuji TV broadcast was awful and only showed the top 6 + Kento Nakamura, so that's why there's no videos of Machida or Murakami. :(

Hoping that Yuzuru can bring it in the long program - I know he's been working on his stamina problems, so hopefully he won't tire out before the end of the program again.

Machida is in 5th after the SP. Fail, Fuji TV. I mean, he's very second tier, but he's a fun skater to watch.

The only time Yuzuru looks like it's his first year in seniors is in the last 90 seconds of his free skate. I'm glad he's working on his stamina.

Yeah, it seems that he's been mentioning the stamina problem in several interviews. I also read that he's been having back problems, so I don't know if those have been resolved yet. Wonder if that means he won't be doing a biellmann in the FS.
