Alissa is gorgeous! I'm so glad this season is such a great one for her.

Sometimes I think Kostner gets overscored because she looks like a throwback to the figure skaters of bygone eras. To me, she always looks like a doll who could lose a limb at any moment. Her movements aren't properly finished and her jumps are lackluster at best.

I think Kostner gets the scores she does because, like the emperor of the ISU, she is Italian. I don't think she looks like a classic skater at all - she has terrible posture and form and scratchy edges, all of which used to be pristine in the old days of figures and ballet lessons.

Pretty sure the whole skating world threw a little party when Alissa won. You gotta love an underdog.

She is really in a class by herself. Unfortunately, she's also prone to making mistakes and giving up. She seems to have turned over a new leaf this year, though.
