Fic: Hearts Beat Time Out (skating RPS, Johnny/Ben): headers and babble

Jul 26, 2006 13:57

Okay. I am incredibly nervous about doing this, but I told myself I had to let this go once I got home from writercon, so here goes. This story is very long, so I'll be posting it in four sections over the course of the next four days. Over the weekend, I'll be posting a full (i.e. not chaptered) version of the story over on fubos.com, a subdomain of which is to be my new website if I ever get my act together. On Sunday, after the whole story has been posted, I'll post a collection of deleted scenes (there are four, including an alternate ending) and some resources for acquiring skating canon. I'll be updating this post to contain links to all of the parts of the story.

Title: Hearts Beat Time Out
Author: mosca
Fandom: figure skating RPS
Pairing/Characters: Johnny Weir/Benjamin Agosto, Tanith Belbin, Irina Slutskaya
Rating: NC-17 for language and adult situations as well as explicit m/m sex.
Continuity: Begins during the 2006 World Championships and continues through the summer and beyond. I've kept major events as close to reality as possible, although I've had to make some adjustments for the sake of narrative coherence. If it helps, think of this as taking place in an AU just next door to the real world.
Summary: Two artist-athletes, too talented to be normal but not too gay to function, have sex, fall in love, recover from injuries both physical and emotional, make unsustainable promises, spend their endorsement checks on noodles and fashion, go on tour, deal with being almost famous, and learn a thing or two about women, not necessarily in that order. There might also be some skating.
Word Count: About 38,000.
Disclaimers: This is a work of fiction. The characters herein are based on real people, but the words and events are completely made up. They are not intended to be mistaken for fact, and no libel is intended. This original work of fan fiction is Copyright 2006 Mosca. All rights reserved. All wrongs reversed.
