um, what's MFF?

I'm sure I'm not involved in anyway, otherwise I'd know, I'm just curious...

Non-Furry question... prelifecrisis October 21 2005, 23:33:42 UTC
As a non-furry with many furry friends, I've always wondered exactly happens at Furry-Cons. I've heard some stories, and beyond not totally understanding, it sorta scares me. So could you please explain? :)
(thanks google for explaining MFF!)

If you've ever been to a science fiction convention, furry cons are much the same, only with somewhat less alcohol consumption. You have panels on various topics of interest to people in the fandom, a dealers' room where one can buy books, comics, art, etc, an artists' alley where one can commission badge or sketchbook art, dances in the evening, a gaming room, and some sort of masquerade/variety show. Since a lot of furries are into costuming, you'll see more hall costumes walking around than at most scifi cons, from simple masks on up to elaborate full-body costumes. For the most part it comes down to geographically dispersed friends enjoying the opportunity to hang out together.

It can be a bit of a culture shock if you're not into furry, but to the open-minded it's no more scary than your average Shriner's convention. :)

I might. I'm not sure how rooming will work with the security accomodations at MFF, and I'm generally wary when it comes to sharing space with a bunch of people I don't know. ^.^

So did you find a place to stay for MFF, or will you be sharing my room? :) I believe my friend Damon will also be sharing the room, and Sirius may need a place to crash on Sunday night.
