You hope never to have to use the Heimlich maneuver, but boy am I glad I knew what to do. This morning Kaylin choked on something he was eating, and couldn't breathe. A smack on the back didn't help, and as he got more panicked so did I, but I knew what to do. I began doing the  Heimlich maneuver while Jimi called 911. It seemed like it took

Whew so glad you were able to take care of it. I want to watch Kaylin for long time yet as he grows into a man. I am very happy for you.

Thank you all for your comments and virtual hugs. Just as follow-up, I never would have chosen to have this happen, but it seems something good will come of it. Kaylin is very reflective about this near-death experience, and took it very seriously, and is making some changes now that we've been struggling with for a while. Thank goodness for everything.
