So the das_sporking comm is taking on the notoriously racist YA novel Save the Pearls chapter by chapter.

I knew it was supposed to be bad (and badly written), but...wow. Just wow. And this was allegedly written to show that Racism Is Bad?

I'm reading it. With the first sentence, I could see why she had to find a vanity publisher. Ye gods, I've read fanfic that would blow this out of the water.

It's probably not going to improve (in style, that is) as it goes along, either. Thankfully, I have honey whiskey to pour into my Dr. Pepper as I slog through this 6th-grade-level tripe. Not to mention that the commentary is fricking hilarious.

Oh, good! I love when people hate on things that so richly deserve it. A few months back, I was obsessed with hating this thing. I'd consider all that time wasted.
