I barely remember the novel at all, other than a horrific flaying scene and some nuns and eventually the Black Death, and thinking that it played as fast and loose with history as did the far superior The Pillars of the Earth.

How far along in the miniseries are you? I'm about 6 eps along and I'm enjoying it, but I think I like The Pillars of the Earth better (the miniseries - I haven't read the books).

Just the first two episodes, which were shown on Reelz tonight.

I quite liked both book and miniseries of The Pillars of the Earth, but so far the World Without End miniseries seems somewhat entertaining but as forgettable as its book.

I've been enjoying it, though I don't think it's as good as Pillars of the Earth.

But I can't be the only one who thinks Queen Isabella's actress bears a striking resemblance to Claudia Black?

Aure Atika does have the same sort of strong-nosed brunette thing going on, I think.

Similar cheekbones and mouth, too, though Aure Atika's features are softer in general.
