City Hunter

It's a good thing I was warned that the first episode is mostly dull backstory, but things start to get interesting at about the 35-minute mark, when Lee Min Ho finally shows up. And is awesome. And has decent hair and is all sweaty and badass in a T-shirt and jeans.

Spoiler cut )

kdrama, city hunter, lee min ho

I remember when I watched City Hunter back when it aired, I and a bunch of other people dubbed 'adopted father' (I use the term loosely) 'Undaddy' because whatever the opposite of paternal is, he is it. But then when one is druglord in Thailand, morals get a little interesting. Suffice it to say if you think he's a few fries short of a happy meals now, just you wait...

Re: the girl. You mean the one in the picture that LMH's character was talking to? I won't spoil you one way or another except to say I love her!

"Undaddy" seems about right. Real daddy must be spinning in his watery grave.

I always called him "Babystealer."

The actor, though, is seriously good at evil/sinister/creepy. I watched him in a horror sageuk shortly after City Hunter finished and he was just chilling in his cave, being a cryptic medicine man (as one does) and I kept expecting him to kill everyone while sipping his tea because he just had that evil aura thing going.

Yes. Great actor; horrible character who needs to get what's coming to him.
