So sad that Mad Men has reached 1966, due to fashion taking a turn for the hellaciously ugly in the mid-1960s and staying fug pretty much ever since.* That takes away a significant amount of the show's appeal, to be honest

I haven't even watched the new episodes, but I'm dreading them shoving all the women in maxi skirts and peasant blouses. Peggy'll go first, I bet. It kind of does tarnish the appeal.
It's true. Women's fashion has definitely never recovered. But they even ruined the men's suits with those giant lapels.
I remember my mother in those awful maxi skirts, mostly in ugly earth tones and worn with coordinating turtlenecks. And don't get me started on my father's sideburns.

So many things began to improve for so many people between 1960 and 1970, but alas the clothes were not among them!
