For me, it was all about the previews. And yes. YOU DEFINITELY SAW WHAT YOU SAW. Also, basement sex is now canon. All the fanfics were definitely on the right track. THANK YOU JESUS.
And if that kiss ends up being some crap like, it was all in Davis' head, I WILL cut a bitch.
I'm thinking torches-and-pitchforks-style mob violence would be fully justified, under the circumstances.
But I prefer to believe that for at least once in her life Chloe will actually get it on with an incredibly attractive Kryptonian guy who loves her above all others.
Well, I'm not completely insane: he's Doomsday and we all know how that ends, so it's not like I think there's any chance they'll get an HEA outside of fic. But I make no apologies about being all about the shipping here.
OMG THE PREVIEW. THE FANFIC APPEARS TO BE RIGHT FOR ONCE. (You know, when I'm writing fic, I try to avoid the "I'd do anything for you" sort of dialogue, but what do you do when the canon itself isn't afraid to indulge in that sort of thing? IDK.)
"I never thought I'd see the day I liked SV more than SPN, but somehow they've managed it."
Sorry, but SV still sucks. They got extremely lucky when they cast SW to play Davis, and somebody grew a brain for a second and decided to pair Davis with Chloe (the only female actress on the show that could've handled a storyline like this, IMO), and they've managed to string together a good arc for the first time in years (and I'm just hoping they don't screw it up at the last minute, as it is their habit to do). But, overall, the show still sucks. And, even in an episode where Davis didn't even really appear, he and Chloe were still the best part.
SV sucks hard, as it always has, and yes, this Davis thing is absolutely the best thing that has happened to SV, like, EVER.
However, S4 of SPN - which isn't exactly the best show ever either - hasn't been doing much for me at all. (Which makes me sad, because, damn, did I love Sam Winchester back in the day.)
I always love and enjoy SPN. Even when an episode isn't great, I still enjoy it. And usually end up enjoying it more on rewatch. (When I try rewatching SV episode I disliked on first viewing, I just feel pain.)
As for SPN not being the greatest show ever, maybe not. But it's well written, well acted, and a great show all around in my opinion.
Did I mention I've been obsessed with SPN for four years? :D
As for SV, it's pretty much become The Chloe & Davis show to me. It's literally the only reason I'm still watching. I'd actually stopped watching. People raving about the Davis storyline was the only thing that brought me back.
Eeee! I missed this post when it came out HOW? Anyway, tis is my entire perspective on the ep, and I prefer to have the post ep in my head where CHloe goes down to the basement. And they talk about you know EPIC ANGST OF DOOm. And there's plot, lot's of plot.
Those were the good old days, when we knew TPTB would find a way to fail in the end but had no idea they'd do it so spectacularly.
I have the S8 Blu-rays and am savoring all the Chloe/Davis goodness. It really, really was so much better and so much better-acted than the rest of the show. Sigh. We'll always have fanfic.
