Doctor Who and Its Spinoffs

1) I made it about fifteen minutes into The Sarah Jane Adventures before rolling my eyes and deleting it from the Tivo. I'm at least twenty-five years north of its target audience.

2) The main reason I keep watching Doctor Who is that I hope someday there will be another Doctor I will love as much as Four and Nine. DT kind of gets on my nerves ( Read more... )

Well, I agree on the last one (except that I stopped watching because even Captain Jack wasn't enough to hold my attention).

It doesn't help that 1 came on right after BSG on Friday, and. No. So so so not the intended audience, I don't care what anyone else says. I am not five years old anymore, and sappy overdone voice-overs are not cool.

It's really too bad, because I love Sarah Jane, but as you said, we're not five years old. I can deal with DW being intended for older kids, but there are limits.

Torchwood kind of made me hate Captain Jack.

Which is really just UNFORGIVABLE.

Except I kind of grew to like some other characters.

But apparently they're all dead now.

On the other hand, apparently Martha's going to be a regular next season?

I don't know. New Who occasionally makes me SO HAPPY. But then it also drives me insane with rage. It's a dilemma.

Unforgivable indeed!

I keep watching DW, so it's not that I don't enjoy it at all. It's more that I'm so ready for Eleven.

Gwen annoys me because she's always doing what SHE thinks is right, but she usually ends up making the wrong choice. You'd think she'd have learned by now to listen to the voice of age and wisdom...Captain Jack. He does what needs to be done. Plus Jack is hot.

I like Ianto and Toshiko just fine. I do not like Gwen's husband at all. He could leave the show and I'd never miss him. Owen is only slightly less annoying than Gwen.

I haven't watched The Sarah Jane Adventures. Just didn't interest me.

I like Gwen fine even though she screws up on a regular basis. I've never liked Rhys - he just doesn't belong at all (which is deliberate, I think, but still). Toshiko is fine. I find Ianto slightly annoying. I rather enjoy watching Owen precisely because he's such an utter bastard.

Basically, I'm all about the Jack. Sigh!

...oh, wait. While I'm OK with SJA and I love Ten as well as Nine, I'm in total agreement on TW and...well, live and let live, right?
