Furfright 2013

So this weekend, I was in Connecticut at the Cromwell Crowne Plaza for Furfright. Although for the most part, a problem-free con, this year's Furfright was so-so for me. To figure out why and to get some perspective, I had to look back on the last two Furfrights. Furfright 2011 was pretty bad, or at least bad enough to write a complaint about. In ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear that, Morton. We're always changing things and trying to improve and keep the con fresh. We take all the feedback we get and do what we can to make things better. We did add a new game to the fursuit games this year, while still keeping some of the favorites. And we have a lot of programming that changes every year.

Parades at every con are pretty much the same. Fursuiters marching through the hotel and outside. Not much we can do to change that (though we will try).

If you have any idea on how we can make things better, please let us know. Drop us an email at the furfright.org site.

No matter what cons you decide to attend, we hope you enjoy them.

If I may make a suggestion, get the fellow running the furfright twitter to plug more of the panels during the con. I had SMS notifications turned on for that timeline, so it would've helped me discover other stuff in the programming that I likely overlooked.

Sorry to hear the con had a humdrum effect on ya... :|

If the happenings seem deja vu, maybe try connecting with a few more people.. I find that the social aspects of conventions can really make them memorable for me...

I tried that but getting the brush off a couple of times was a damper on the weekend. I didn't want to dwell on that in my post above, so I stopped at describing it as my becoming "pretty distant" from the New England scene. Also, folks I already knew were hard to find throughout the con, for some reason. If they were at a room party or whatever, they didn't tell me.

This sounds kind of fimilar. I have been feeling the same way towards some of the cons i go to, and was considering skipping some of them next year as well. Heck at one of them this year. I was in my room falling asleep at 830pm Saturday night. I am not sure how to change this feeling other then maybe not go.

I'm starting to think skipping cons is the solution too. It was my fourth con this year and maybe my limit is 3 because I'd been doing 3 per year just fine for so many years. It's not like one furry con is all that much different from another anyway, location aside.
