Long Island weekend, Jones Beach Autism Walk

The actual purpose of this trip to Long Island was to do a mascot gig with Hi-4 at the Jones Beach Autism Walk, but I treated it as a weekend away from home. A mini-vacation, if you will. Wow, 48 caches? That's amazing.

For all I know, it could be normal to have to ask servers at fine restaurants multiple times for stuff before you get it.

I can only speak for restaurants in Germany, but no, that's certainly not normal.

I get decent service pretty much everywhere else too, but Long Island restaurants seem to have more problems. I go there only once a year now, so I shouldn't be too concerned. Just have to deal with it.

In built-up areas, yes, there are a lot of caches that can be done at night. When I'm geocaching at night, I avoid caches in cemeteries, parks that are closed at night, deep woods, and anywhere that looks unsafe in the dark. Roadside and some parking lot caches are probably okay. In NYC, some city parks, like the strip of land next to the Belt Parkway, are used by joggers in the wee hours of the morning but I didn't venture too far from the designated parking area myself.
