Every couple of years or so, I check the state registry for unclaimed funds in my name just in case. For some reason though, I never thought of checking with New York State. Good luck with that...
The Calif state dept here can make ya do runarounds also. My mom had $180 coming and they sent it fast, but another friend had $35,000 coming and it took him YEARS of back and forth back and forth with them to get some of it... I still don't know if he got everything..
