Surely size 17 shoes are Sideshow Bob footwear!

I have big feet. It's a curse.

Except for dating. There's the old female belief that goes, "Big feet means a big ... " :)

I'm stunned that you didn't buy a few pairs of shoes on the spot! Who knows what will be available later, and, seeing as there's a pretty high chance that you'll need these later, :-) and (presumably) it's not a huge investment for you, well... I'm just surprised. You're usually all about spotting opportunities and making wise investments.

I did think about that. However, I already have extra shoes and not a whole lot of room to store any more shoes. What would've made me buy up a few pairs right there and then is if they had velcro shoes. Those are harder to find in my size than lace-up shoes.

Now here's something you didn't ask: Why did I buy a TV converter box if I don't watch TV at home?

Wrt velcro, I love Teva's, though I have no clue if they're made in your size. They're sandals, not shoes, but I started loving them after I was literally forced (as in medically prescribed) to wear them in '97 (and I was never a sandals guy before that).

Wrt the box, I just assumed you were going to eBay it; my only question there, actually, was why you didn't claim both coupons from Uncle Sam.

I've actually been wondering about all of the analog TV's themselves; I'm assuming that a lot of them are going to end up migrating to other countries, where they'll presumably have more utility.

It's for my parents because they watch TV when they visit.
