Oof. Such a bittersweet ending to a great fic. Rose, despite her momentary lapses into self-loathing, always sacrafices her own happiness (and sanity) for those she loves. That plays true to both the movie and the 8 other chapters so far. You kept the charecters, especially Rose consistint witout sacraficing charecter development. That's awesome!
I really love the detail to mood and each charecter's mindset and facial features.
I really really loved that Cybil and Rose shared a couple of small moments before Sharon/Alyssa sent her back.
Thank you for staying with me through this thing, and thank you for the comments! You've been really encouraging. I'm glad you liked where the story went - I was afraid people weren't going to like the ending.
I agree. Silent Hill isn't really fluff material, is it? :D
Actually, this is the first and so far only fanfic I've ever written, so I'm afraid I must disappoint you. Perhaps sometime in the future, if I find some other fandom severly lacking some decent femslash, I will attempt to write more! Until then, thanks again for your encouragement. I'll definitely be reading your stuff.
The fall of ashes is wicked visual--I think of the way supposedly purifies and how the flakes turn to water if captured in the hands---ashes like snow dissolves when rubbed between the fingers but turns to smudge gray, black--
I had a feeling Cybil wouldn't stay--though I've never seen Silent Hill, (you've given enough look into her to see that she would ironically enough go insane if kept there)--and though her staying with Rose is such a romantic notion-- I doubt it would have rang true-
I ached for Rose and even ached for Sharon--for losing Cybil but somehow I get the feeling that the bond the two share between them will be enough. Twisted clarity. LOL
I'm gonna have to see if Silent Hill is downloaded on YouTube-
Watching Silent Hill on Youtube is really a shame - the visual is stunning. Lots of ashes. :D
Thanks for reading! You were part of the reason why I finally managed to finish this thing - you're a great inspiration, you know.
I couldn't really make Cybil stay in that place - as you said, it wouldn't have rung true, and the eventual outcome would probably have been devastating. I do imagine that Rose eventually made her way out as well, but... that's another story.
