I'd really love to avoid dropping that much cash, but honestly it might come to that. I've used my friend's Pro before and liked it, but I'm really into Windows (I shouldn't be, but I take comfort in the familiar haha).
Also, maybe I should check out the new Safari. I cycle back and forth with Firefox; the new Safari looks really cool, it's just a question of importing all my bookmarks and everything.
OK, got it. Just had to figure out how to export the bookmarks from Firefox. I'm liking the functionality of the new Safari, and some pages that used to take forever to load on Firefox are like lightning on Safari.
I'm really glad you love your Mac. Honestly, I have only ever owned Macs since way back in '92 when everyone was saying Mac was dead. I would never buy a PC for myself, I enjoy the Mac that much. I don't tinker with a lot of stuff, I just want a machine that works, is reliable, and not worrying about viruses is a big plus. Also, they are seXxor.
You know people keep saying that about Macs--that more viruses will be made--ever since I can remember. But it has never happened. Honestly I can remember only one virus made specifically for a Mac, and that one was not very destructive and easily dealt with. That was back in about, oh 94 or 95 if I recall correctly.
I dunno, just stuff I've heard floating around, but you know. I had a virus back in the 90s, a Word virus that was a PITA before I figured out how to de-activate it. It *would* really be a bummer if people did start writing malware for Macs.

New laptop is high on my list of things to look at once I start working again, and I'll definitely add on a whizzy new mouse.

Me neither!

Unfortunately, with the uptick in Mac sales, there will be more malware developed for the Mac. Sucks, but there it is.
