Something that bugs the hell out of me:

It seems to be considered acceptable to say, “You are so quiet. Don’t you ever talk?”

But it is considered rude to say, “You’re so loud. Don’t you ever shut the fuck up?”

I can be pretty quiet at times. My job involves being around people all day long and I'm actually thankful to be home and talk when I feel like it...sometimes there is no point to talk to me as I'm lost in my own little world. I don't see a problem with that.

It's so true and you are right, complete crap that it works one way but not the other :(

Oh yes! When I was younger, I was very thin and people would ask me all the time "Why are you so thin?" but if I ask them "Why are you so fat?" would have been completely unacceptable!

I've gotten the same. My coworkers always give me grief for my high metabolism and gripe that they wish they could eat everything. I'm sorry, what do you want me to say?

That's one of the first signs of a bad mood for me- no patience with someone who's overly talkative.

You are so right. Speaking personally, there's nothing more guaranteed to make me clam up than someone telling me, 'You're awfy quiet".
