And every time one of these so called Christians moans that the X somehow diminishes their view of Xmas, I want to scream that the X was used to mean Christ in the old days of the Roman Empire. Sadly, they aren't really working on logic, history or facts

i managed to not start any fights with my father, who had been scolded into behaving while i was around.

Our Christmas get-together went really well - better than I expected. I expected some sort of rant from at least one of my parents, but nothing like that happened (well, Dad did show his ass a bit towards mom, but it blew over nearly as fast as it started). My mom even said that there is no way to know when "Jesus" was born - I told them what I know about Christmas, and they all seemed to "get it" and understand where I'm coming from - and that what I know is not necessarily a denial of Christianity (just the fundamentalist versions
