Happy Divali!

I really do love Hinduism, it has so much in common with Wicca! I'm research Divali today for our class at the UU and I've fallen in love with Rangoli, which are colorful floor designes made with chalk, rice flour, sand, etc.  Now why couldn't have Gardner brought back this tradition from his life in India? I for one don't feel bound by Gardner--I'm not gardinarian. If there a tradition you feel would honor the divine for make your practice better, use it. Read about it, talk to practicioners currently doing it and then learn, study, meditate, make it yours. We create our practice everyday.

Remarkably, there are a lot of connections between India and the Ancient Celts, if you wanted to explore it. Legal code and religions were structured similarly for a long while, as well as language patterns and roots of words.

Actually most of the pre-xian western mythology, language, culture, etc, has ties back to India. It has to do with the migration of the indoeuropean peoples.
