Hey, I'm Joe.

I'm new in this particular community and thought I'd say hi. I try to keep myself informed on politics and whatnot and I have a real softspot for political satire.

Knowing that, I'd like to get some feedback on a little satire I recently put together.

Wow, that's quite an entrance to the community! I certainly agree about the danger of making the assumption that a particular political party is "God's party" and the assumption that they are always in the right (and more dangerously, that God is sanctioning the political agenda of the party).

It comes as a bit of a surprise to some people that the majority of LDS are not, in fact, Republicans.

Hmmm. Since a majority of Mormons aren't even U.S. citizens, has there been any kind of study or survey of U.S. Mormons and their political affiliation? I remember hearing somewhere that the bulk of Mormon pioneers were actually Democrats or Whigs. Can't recall the source, though.
