I'm linking to this wonderful post by my dear friend azelmaroark because this issue is infuriating.

Prop 8 Post By Katiepants, of the Empire of AwesomeSynopsis: A bill up for the vote in the State of California will take away the rights of gay and lesbian married couples. This is bad enough, but here's the part that really gets my gut... Christian ( Read more... )

Thanks dear. I can make it public for another day or two if you want people on your flist to be able to see it.

I know I've lost friends over that post, but I can't bring myself to care. I decided before I made it that I was okay with that happening, and I still am. It's shown me who my real friends are.

I'll make it public for another day or two, then. Some shit has gone down there (surprise, surprise), but they knew exactly what they were doing posting on a public entry, so I don't feel too bad opening it up.

Thanks, I think I might make my post about Prop 8 public as well until the 4th. I really would like to find a get together or a walk for No on 8.

I read the anger in the words from the writer of a previous statement, wow! and the unnecessary foul language. I am a Christian and have and have lost gay friends to aids. I see On the media the huge push for gay rights which is great but I believe Marriage was created for a man and a woman who create a union and create children. There are legal unions that can be filed between gay couples, I think this is a TELL THE WORLD WE ARE RIGHT AND ACCEPTABLE!! Thats all this is about just like the athiest who keep trying to take down crosses on hillsides and the 10 commandments out of the court rooms. Really Look at all the money spent at the elections every year, and our entertainment industry, we could all be helping the needy, sick and the dying. thanks for listening from San Diego.

Yeah, because she totally doesn't have a right to be angry about being discriminated against. What was she thinking? *rolls eyes ( ... )

"These people don't know the first fucking thing about Jesus"

THANK YOU. So many people just decide to blame Christianity as a whole for this sort of stuff, but it's really just the fucking holier-than-thou psycho religious zealots who proclaim to be a follower of God in their faith, yet haven't read in the bible itself where it says that all are loved. Yes, even *GASP!!!!* gays.

Eugh...don't even get me started. I get so fucking heated over this shit. Especially as a Christian (though some would say a poor excuse for one), myself. It just astounds me how stupid some most people are.

The awesome Christians I know have given me hope for Christianity. Before I met people like you and Danny, I had completely given up hope that there were decent Christians in the world, because every one of them I had previously called friends had disowned and condemned me.

I <3 you.

*le sigh* I fell sorry for Christian who get lumped in with these guys.. I'm not of a faith myself, but I don't let that keep me from getting to know people who are..
25 mill is a hard number to swallow being wasted on this.. I guess it is a measure of how hard some can hate, to wast so much money and time on this.

I just made a huge post about this in my journal yesterday since I will be one of the people voting on this soon. If I want to break down my reason for why I'm voting No is simple. I truly believe what rights I have should be equal to all my fellow Americans and to have one group excluded is Unconstitutional. A vote for yes is a vote against the foundation that the US was built on, that everyone is equal and should be treated equally ( ... )

I know. I will never understand black people who are against rights for GLBTs. And I know quite a few who are. It's like, wtf, did you forget? You know it hasn't been that long! Just a few decades ago and you would have been being lynched for walking through town in some places.

<3 Rant all you want love, and thanks for the input.
